Ready for a float on the Muskegon River?
Thanks for visiting!
Hello, I am Guy DeBor of Guy's Ultimate Kayak Service. I run a livery service, offering kayak rental for floats down the lower Muskegon River in Muskegon, Michigan. I have multiple floats available. Each float takes approx. 1 & 1/2 hrs. depending on river conditions and paddle speed, but I give you 2 hours to explore the river, stop for lunch or swim. You can combine two floats for a 3-4 hour float. A life jacket and paddle are included with rental. Click on a float below or call me for more information, and I will transport your group upstream, get you on the river and meet you at the end of your float to pickup my boats. My hours are Sunday thru Saturday 7am to 8pm. Prices start at $20 for a single kayak rental.
The middle float flows across the Muskegon river plain with a few downed trees to navigate around. This section is ever changing as the river is always carving out new paths. It has a sandy bottom with some areas only inches deep. Much narrower than the other floats it has some fast current sections that are fun and challenging. There are places to stop and swim or have lunch. It merges with Cedar Creek before reaching the US 31 Highway.Skill level 3-4 out of 10. The lower float is wider and deeper than the other floats. There are very few obstacles and it has mostly cattails along the banks. Lots of sun, easy paddling and very relaxing. It is wide enough to have fishing boats and jet skis around. Skill level 1-2 out of 10. The lower float ends between the M120 causeway bridges at the Veterans Memorial Park, where the Muskegon river empties into Muskegon Lake.
Bald eagles, falcons, cranes, ducks, deer, turkeys and turtles are some of the wildlife you may observe on your float. All sections of the river have very few houses on them as they flow through the Muskegon, Michigan state game area. Bring your camera and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing float today.
I also offer kayak transport of your kayak. If you have a kayak or two and have friends who don't, I will transport your kayak(s) upstream for only $5 per yak with a separate kayak rental. Kayak transport without a kayak rental is $15 per kayak. Click the BOOK button for a kayak rental or transport today!
